Vetiverylacetate could be described as a hybrid molecule, semi-natural, semi-synthetic. It is a part of the vetiver oil, distilled from the roots of an Indian grass, which is then "crossed" with acetic acid to remove the bitter and leathery aspects of the root. Escentric 03 focuses on vetiverylacetat in a formula that pays tribute to the three roots of perfumery: vetiver, ginger and orris, which are extracted from the roots of the Florentine iris. "I wanted Escentric 03 to highlight the smell impressions of these roots," says Geza Schoen, "and show how they harmonize with each other." Ginger dominates the top note, which is lively, green and spicy with lime zest and green pepper. The heart is rich in velvety orris with Egyptian jasmine and tea notes. The drainage underlines the dark green woodiness of Vetiver together with sandalwood, cedar wood, soft balms and musk.
