Behind the scenes: Our way to the Advent calendar

Since you liked our last perfume calendar so much, we thought we’d give you a few insights today and review what the process was like for us, what we learned and how we want to design the new PAFORY calendar. We’ve talked to you and taken your feedback to heart so that the next calendar is even better suited to you.

 

 

Exciting fragrances and special brands

Niche fragrances are created out of pure passion and focus on high-quality ingredients and well thought-out fragrance pyramids. With our calendar, we want to show you how much love and potential there is in every single fragrance.

At the same time, we give special brands the opportunity to be seen. Because with an advent calendar, every little door gets attention, unlike the uncoordinated mass of fragrances on the internet or in perfumeries. To support the brands even more, we would like to tell you about them and their fragrances in our magazine (as we did last year).

 

 

Step by step to the right design

We shot our cover image internally and went out onto the streets of Stuttgart for the rest of the content, looking for cool corners and photo backgrounds. After a few attempts and a few rounds of feedback, the time had come and our first sample arrived. It was so exciting for us to physically experience the calendar for the first time.

The magazine that accompanied the calendar was already a highlight last year. We took great care in developing the layout designs and thinking about what information to include to give you enough added value. It was fascinating to see how the pages gradually took shape and our idea came to fruition.

 

 

 

 

From idea to realization

We designed, produced the samples and filled the calendar completely in-house so that we could take care of every little detail ourselves. It was a lot of work, but it also gave us the freedom to realize exactly what we had in mind.

Of course, there were also challenges that almost drove us to despair at times. For example, some brands were unfortunately no longer able to be part of the calendar due to time constraints, which was a great pity. But it was precisely these hurdles that showed us how important planning and flexibility are.

It was particularly important to us that the calendar content was diverse. We wanted to cover as many scents as possible so that there was something for every taste. Each door should contain a special fragrance that you like and love.

 

 

 

 

Your reactions

We were really touched by the response to our Advent calendar. Especially at the perfume fair in Cannes, we were able to experience the enthusiasm of the brands at first hand. But we also received many warm messages and praise from you. It was so nice to see how much you appreciated our work. The fact that the calendar was then completely sold out made us so happy and showed us that all the effort was worth it.

 

 

There’s an advent calendar again!

After our very first Advent calendar the year before last, the 2023 calendar was a project that we more or less fell into as a start-up. Not everything went perfectly and we had to put in the odd weekend shift, but we made the most of it and used the time to laugh and eat together. In the end, we proudly used the calendar ourselves to count down the days until Christmas.

 

Your wishes and suggestions were a great help to us in refining the selection of fragrances and making the overall experience even more appealing. We are incredibly grateful for your support and look forward to surprising you again this year with a unique calendar.
